چکیده
This study was conducted on a sample of thirty patients selected from Orthodontics department de’Montmorency College of dentistry/ Punjab dental Hospital, Lahore. The purpose of study was to evaluate treatment effects of Distal Jet Appliance during Class-II molar correction with a focus on the magnitude of Maxillary first molar distalization, its tipping, extrusion, rotation as well as anchorage loss at premolar-incisor unit. Pre and post distalization lateral cephalogram and study cast were used as evaluation tools. Results showed that there was 3.88 mm space created during 7.11 months; out of which 2.93 mm (75.52 %) showed molar distalization while 0.93 mm (24.48 %) premolar mesialization as anchorage loss. There was 3.41o molar tipping with 0.20 mm extrusion and second premolar showed 7.33 o distal tipping, 0.90 mm extrusion whereas Incisors showed 1.65 o labial tipping.

Evaluation of maxillary molar distalization with the distal jet: a comparison with other contemporary methods.
Maxillary molar distalization is an increasingly popular option for the resolution of Class II malocclusions. This communication describes the effects of one particular molar distalizing appliance, the distal jet, in a sample of 20 consecutively treated and growing subjects (11 females, nine males; mean starting age of 13) and compares these effects with those of similar devices. Pre- and postd...
متن کاملEffects of distal jet appliance for the first molar distalization on the second molar eruption
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of distal jet for the first molar distalization on the eruption of maxillary second molar. Materials and Methods: The dental casts and cephalograms of 33 patients with class II malocclusion were analyzed. The group of distal jet appliance consisted of 18 patients with the second molars absent or partly erupted. And 15 patients with co...
متن کاملMolar Uprighting Using Mini-Screws after Distalization by the Pendulum Appliance: A Case Report
A 16-year-old Class II female patient was treated without tooth extraction. The upper first molars were distalized by the Pendulum appliance. After six months, the molars tipped significantly to the distal. To correct this side effect, we decided to upright the molars using skeletal anchorage. On each side, a mini-screw was inserted between first and second premolars in the buccal cortical plat...
متن کاملComparison of Maxillary Molar Distalization with an Implant-Supported Distal Jet and a Traditional Tooth-Supported Distal Jet Appliance
Aim. To investigate and compare the efficiency of two appliances for molar distalization: the bone-anchored distal screw (DS) and the traditional tooth-supported distal jet (DJ) for molar distalization and anchorage loss. Methods. Tests (18 subjects) were treated with a DS and controls (18 subjects) were treated with a DJ. Lateral cephalograms were obtained before and at the end of molar distal...
متن کاملA comparison of two intraoral molar distalization appliances: distal jet versus pendulum.
INTRODUCTION This study compared the dentoalveolar and skeletal effects on Class II malocclusions of the distal jet with concurrent full fixed appliances and the pendulum appliance both followed by fixed appliances. METHODS The 2 samples each consisted of 32 subjects (19 girls and 13 boys) with mean ages at the start of treatment of 12 years 3 months in the distal jet group and 12 years 6 mon...
